TumbleBook Access

TumbleBook can be purchased for an individual school, but since we do service military dependents, we can access TumbleBook free through the military library website, USAFE Libraries.

First click

http://www.usafelibraries.org/

Or type it into your browser.  You may want to set this as a favorite (or bookmark) as you will enter TumbleBook this way every time.

The USAFE Library website homepage looks like this.  You are looking for the menu at the top of the page.  To the far right you see the red box labeled “Kids Page”

This will bring you to the USAFE Library kids page.

You will notice there are many activities here for you to check out for children.  Today we are focusing on the Tumblebook program.  Again, we are looking for the red menu tab at the top.

There are many different ways to access the books for your children to view.  Sticking with the easiest way for children to remember, Team Read always sticks with red (Kids Page, TumbleBook, and now Story Books).  As the teacher ,you can use the Tumblesearch to find books you are using in class or books on a subject you are using in class.  For the actual student access, we will use “Story Books.” You can let your students know which book to read for the day or let them find one on their own.

You now have access to the actual stories themselves.  You can browse the story titles and see information about each book.  To the far right you can see all the extras that match the book.  Comprehension quizzes, games, lesson plans, and book reports are some options available.

Once you see a book you want to view you click the orange eye or green “View Online.”  The story will open in a new window.

Now you have the ability to read over 200 books to your class without ever opening your mouth.  Happy reading!
